Tabs inside tables

Postby nuttmeg » Sun May 23, 2010 10:10 am

Hi!

I am trying to format tables containing numbers with decimal points. I add decimal tabs to the cells but then in some cells numbers align up well, yet in other blocks of cells they don't. The tabs are there on the ruler but even if I drag them around nothing happens. However, what I found was that adding a second tab helps. Why do I need to hit tab twice to get the desired effect? There is only one tab specified. Also, there is some inconsistency between the tab position on the ruler and in the text. It is only noticeable when I try to modify tab positions by dragging.

Regards,

Csaba, I'm unable to duplicate your problem.

First a little more info: which version of Mellel are you running under which version of OX X?

Second, maybe send us a small example of the problem.

To use a tab inside a table, press option-tab instead of simple tab. This is documented in the Mellel Guide and in my Tutorial for Beginners.
